There have been countless attempts to make live TV broadcasts available to viewers on the go, but none have worked very well. This spring that may change as TV stations and consumer electronics companies push a new broadcast standard called Mobile Digital TV.
JQ's been testing some of the early prototype devices that will receive Mobile DTV signals, including a portable LG DVD player, LG smart phone, and a tiny adapter from Valups that will bring television programs to nearly any portable device that uses Wi-Fi. Later this year, Dell will introduce a netbook with Mobile DTV and Samsung is expected to launch phones that can tune in the channels.
